Editorial principles

We sell forced reset triggers, so anything we publish about them is written by someone with a commercial interest in the answer. These are the rules we hold ourselves to because of that, not in spite of it.

Legal status comes from primary sources

Where we describe the legal position of a product, we cite the original document rather than another retailer’s summary. In practice that means the ATF’s own published notices, Congressional Research Service reports, and state Attorney General publications. Where a state’s position rests on a statute, we name the statute.

Where sources conflict, we publish the conflict

Several widely published lists of which states restrict forced reset triggers contradict one another. Rather than pick one and present it as settled, we show where they agree, where they diverge, and why the divergence exists. A confident answer is worth less than an accurate one when the consequence of being wrong is a felony.

We do not claim testing we have not done

We have no test lab and we do not pretend otherwise. Where our guides describe how a trigger behaves at the range, that material is drawn from published owner reports and manufacturer documentation, and it is attributed as such. You will not find invented range results or a fabricated testing methodology on this site.

Specifications are labelled by origin

Product specifications we have not independently measured are supplier provided, and we say so rather than presenting them as verified. If you are relying on a dimension or a weight for a build, confirm it against the manufacturer before you commit.

We correct things

Firearms law moves, and product classifications move with it. When we find something on this site that is wrong or has gone stale, we change it rather than quietly leaving it. Terminology in this category is genuinely contested, and where a manufacturer describes its own product differently from how retailers market it, we say both.

What we will not do

We do not publish invented reviews, fabricated credentials, or awards we have not received. We do not give legal advice, and nothing on this site is a substitute for an attorney licensed in your state. Our guides are written to help you decide whether a product is right and lawful for you, which sometimes means telling you the answer is no.
